What it requires to be a Project Manager

Project Manager acts as guardian of Project on behalf of executive management of the organisation. He is expected to take decisions which are most favorable to project objectives.




An effective & efficient Project Manager should have following skills


1. Knowledge of Project management concepts, tools & techniques


2. Good Inter-personnel skills and ability to influence stakeholders


3. Problem solving & conflict resolutions skills


4. Excellent communication skills to convey thoughts clearly via meetings, emails & presentations


5. Project Domain Subject Knowledge


6. Fair operational hold on Productivity enhancement tools such as estimation, schedulling & costing, risk management, communication tools/ systems


7. Overall most improtantly 10 years+ industry experience working with people of varied skill sets, exerience level, different cultures and countries.

8. Ability to manage stakeholders expectations, identify project objectives & constraints priorities/ project pulling forces strength level
